Track declared ideal for Spring Racing

July 29, 2016 by Rockingham Beachcup Leave a Comment

At a meeting held Tuesday 26 July leading Perth racing industry figures declared the Rockingham Beach an ideal location for the 6 race card to be held on Sunday 13th November. Karnup trainers Daniel Pearce and David Harrison walked the beach track along with leading Perth jockey Jarrad Noske who all agreed that the track would provide a great spectacle for the public who could view the races from Churchill Park, The Marquee or one of the restaurants along the Rockingham Boardwalk.

Trainers, jockeys, horse owners and the horse racing industry have got behind this exciting event and very generously donated their time and resources to ensure the event is a success.
The Rockingham Beach Cup, organised by the Rotary Club of Palm Beach, will raise funds for the McCusker Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, Variety Club WA, and Rotary Projects.

July 22, 2016 by Rockingham Beachcup Leave a Comment

Off The Track has committed to supporting the Rockingham Beach Cup and will be on course at the unique event showcasing the attributes of retired thoroughbred and standard bred horses.

The Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) Off The Track program aims to increase the demand for retired racehorses as pleasure and performance horses through promotion of the attributes of both Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds.

Sharon Joyce of  Off The Track  stated  “Our mission is to facilitate the placement of retired racehorses in second careers by promoting the many re-trainers across the state and educating the community about the various life after racing options, versatility of use and the appropriate care and retraining of the Thoroughbred and Standardbred.”

RWWA is the peak body for racing in Western Australia and is committed to the welfare of our racing animals.
